This Ebony Giraffe and baby piece is handmade from one piece.  Ebony is a the most expensive wood in the world known for its density and naturally black.

It is challenging to carve out Ebony wood due to its hardness. The carving follows a long process of shaping the image chip after chip, then reshaping the minute details with a special tool. The final step is sanding the raw form to a smoother finish resulting to a mirror effect when polished.
